Dual identity is an active conversation that I consider in my work. I feel that I fit into two different families, one that I call my parents and then another that I haven't met. Within the last year I had been reading letters that I had received from both my adoptive mother and my birth mother and finding inspiration. I compiled the letters and extracted statements that spoke to me. In response I wrote my own poetry and created drawings to reflect my feelings.
